Who we are

People, not paperwork.

IAFA is a Portuguese non-governmental organization turning intercultural dialogue into real mobility, learning and solidarity — for young people and adults alike.

Our story

Founded in 2013, in Barcelos.

The Intercultural Association For All was created to open the doors of Europe to everyone — regardless of background, means or starting point. From our home in Barcelos, in the north of Portugal, we design and host international projects that put people in the same room to learn from one another.

With an international team of professionals, we work towards inclusion, equal opportunities and active citizenship, using non-formal education as our method and intercultural exchange as our engine.

What drives us

Three commitments behind every project.

They shape who we invite, how we run activities, and what we leave behind in each community.

01

Inclusion

We build activities that work for people who are too often left out — because opportunity should not depend on where you start.

02

Mobility

Crossing a border changes how you see the world. We make that experience possible, funded and open to all.

03

Active citizenship

We help young people turn empathy into action — leading, volunteering and shaping the communities they live in.

Our mission

A more inclusive, connected Europe — built one exchange at a time.

We promote international mobility and training for young people and adults, fostering equal opportunities, intercultural understanding and active participation in society.
